Thanks Christine for reminding me to keep up with this blog. I get so lazy when it comes to blogging but I need to do it.
As of last weekend I have moved into my brother's house in Williston, VT. It is a great town with lots of stores and really close to Burlington which is a really big college town and tourist trap for skiers and the like. I have yet to go into Burlington but I am looking at a church there. My brother told me about it, it's called Dwell and my brother knows the pastor from Sugarbush, the ski mountain he works at. Apparently the pastor does snowboard type mentoring taking people out on the slopes and getting to know them- pretty sweet!
I painted my room and have been trying to get adjusted. I have yet to find a dresser therefore my bags are not unpacked and haven't put things on the wall yet but I will get there soon.
We have had about a foot of snowfall over the past 24 hours which is awesome. I have been waiting for winter to get here and it has arrived!
Tara, my sister-in-law is back to work although she works at home but I have started to watch Wyatt when she has conference calls etc. I am still waiting to hear back from Saint Michael's College about the grad program I applied for. I really hope I can start next semester because it will help balance out my life a little bit and hopefully meet some people here. I don't know anyone besides who I live with so it's kind of frustrating.
I am glad to be here although I miss being at home and I miss Gabe. He is almost 1, I can't believe it!
Wyatt is really cute but he is still in that weird alien baby stage where all babies kind of look alike and a little odd but cute nontheless!

Listen to your gut
I am having an amazing summer here at camp! The community, weather, people, and God are all so amazing!! I love the kids that come through here and just am so thankful to have this opportunity to be here again!
On other news, on Sunday I broke up with Torsten. It had been something that was weighing on my heart for a while now. I had been trying to make him into the man I wanted to be with. In the end, he wasn't right for me and I finally saw that. The biggest thing that I realized especially now that I am at camp is that I don't want to end up with someone who is not a Christian. Torsten was really good to me and for me to grow as a person and learn how to be in an adult relationship but at the end of the day, he was not the one. I still care about him but am really glad I listened to my gut and to the hints that God had been showing me that I deserve more. I probably would have been content marrying him but it would have been like settling and I don't want to just settle because I loved someone enough. I want that person to be the person I cant live without who only helps my faith grow and brings out the best in me. When I did it I felt a huge relief and I know that is is right. Different people that I have talked to have been really encouraging in my decision and that has really helped. Robyn, a woman whose married to the head maintenance guy at the conference center told me just how important it is to listen to your gut because if you keep ignoring what your gut is telling you then you eventually won't hear that voice. I also have talked to my parents a lot about it and they thought he was a really great guy but knew he wasn't the one for me.
I have learned a lot from being in a relationship with Torsten and will always love him in some way. I hope he finds the girl that he deserves that can give him his whole heart because I couldn't be that girl.
Well, I absolutely love it here. To me this place is paradise so holy cow are we going to be blown away when we get to heaven!
Love you girls and miss you so much!!

On the road again
I'm on the bus headed down to Boston to see Susy for a few days and then to Philly to see Torsten and then flying to California on Saturday. It was been one hell of a ride so far. This morning, after saying I didn't want one, my mom insisted that my brother go get me a coffee which the bus driver had to wait for. I didn't want it and ended up falling asleep with it sitting on the seat between my legs. I was woken up to find that it had spilled on my crotch. It was wet, hot and looked like I peed myself. Then onto the next bus, which was completely full, I had to sit next to a very, very large man who took up 1& 1/2 seats which only gave enough room for 1 &1/2 of my butt-cheeks and half of my back. He was really nice and didn't smell but he talked my ear off for the past 3 hours. He was really into cyberspace and living in the virtual world. Needless to say, I am on my third bus of the day and am comfortably sitting in my own seat.
Yesterday I had a photoshoot with Gabe and then later on in the day some family shots with Sam, katie and Gabe. Here are some photos from that.
I'm going to miss that little one. I woke him up this morning to say goodbye and the first thing he did was smile.

Ahh Home
Being home has been very, very strange.
It is the first time I have been home since my dad has passed away and it is weird and sad.
It is the oddest feeling when I am driving in the car or walking around in a store and I pick up the phone to call him and then it dawns on me, he's not there.
My days have been filled with household chores while everyone else is at work,
spending time with my beautiful nephew,
seeing family through good and bad circumstances,
ridiculous drama caused by my dad's wife,
anxiety regarding my time here and waiting to go to california,
cold and now very hot weather,
summer allergies and cold,
and the incredible desire for time to rewind and fast forward all at the same time.
Pulled over while driving last week to take these.
And speaking of home, this song is amazing. "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
